Modernizing transit data, without the gamble
Transit agencies needed to modernize how they manage and report data to the National Transit Database — but a full build meant betting tens of thousands of dollars on unproven workflows. ETA Transit needed certainty before writing code.
Prototype first, build second
We mapped the agency workflows, built a clickable prototype, and put it in front of stakeholders for validation. Only after the approach was proven did development begin — targeted, scoped, and aligned with how transit teams actually work.
What Geekbears did
- ✓Discovery and workflow mapping
- ✓Clickable prototype for stakeholder validation
- ✓Iterative design before development
- ✓Targeted build after validation
The result
The clickable prototype validated the approach before a full build, avoiding a $50K investment in the wrong direction.
Prototype-first
Validation approach
“The clickable prototype allowed us to validate before we actually built… didn't invest $50K in something no one wanted.”
